Waiting It Out

Summary: Drabble based on spec for S7 premier.

He left the meeting exhausted, frustrated, and sick of hearing ‘hire a staff, Josh.’ It’d only been four days. Four days since he said he was proud of her. That he needed her. That it wasn’t fun without her. That she could choose her position. There were six to fill and he couldn’t wait forever, but he could wait a little longer. It had, after all, only been four days since she’d smiled and promised to consider it.

Coffee in hand, he walked back into his office, freezing when he saw her.

She smiled softly. “You mentioned something a job?”
