Summary: Drabble based on spec for S7 premier 

He got in early and started towards his office, stopping when he saw her working in a smaller empty one. “Hi,” he said hesitantly.

She looked up, smiled. “I should brief today. Show that while republicans are worried about a recovered alcoholic, we’re worried about the country.”

“You’re uh…” He raised his eyebrows. After a long pause, “You’re ready?”

“Absolutely.”

Another pause. “Fine. You can brief after morning staff.”

“This office was empty. It’s…ok?”

He looked around, smirked. “Yeah, of course, it’s fine.”

“I didn’t know you hired a press secretary,” Matt said later.

He grinned. He hadn’t, not exactly.
