Handsome and Powerful

“You know,” she says casually. “I can see how some would consider the congressman handsome.”

“Can you?” 

She smiles. “Yes. I don't personally, 'cause you're the only one I think is handsome.”

His eyes widen. “Uh-huh.”

“But if I worked here, so other people wouldn't suspect, I'd pretend I thought he was handsome. Of course, all along it’d be a lie, because of how handsome you are... and powerful.”

“Threading the needle, Donna?”

“I just think you should have someone working here who knows the truth.”

He smirks. “That I’m handsome…”

“And powerful.”

“Fine.” He shakes his head. “You’re hired.”
